Meet our President Amanda Whatley pictured with her husband Jason and daughter Arianna and sons Holden (center) and Fred (right).
Amanda was elected by the board of directors to become our new President in May of 2008. Kristen Mioduszewski decided to step down after her recent marriage and to concentrate her family and her new baby due this summer.
Amanda Whatley and her family moved to the Emerald Coast from Hollywood California in 2004. Amanda and Jason are the parentsof two children affected by autism spectrum disorders (ASD) They has a 8-year-old son who was diagnosed with Aspergers at age 5, and a 6-year-old son recently identified as being on the spectrum. Amanda and Jason have been married for ten years and also have a 13 year old daughter named Arianna who loves to volunteer with Autism related projects and recently arranged a Hat Day at her school.
Amanda has jumped in with both feet and joined the Navarre Chamber and also planned a very successful Zoo day. She is now working on a surf camp for children with disabilities.
Amanda is actively involved as an advocate for her own children, as well as on behalf of others who are unable to advocate for themselves. Her vision is to help Emerald Coast Autism Society address the multi-faceted needs of those affected by autism and make information accessible to everyone.
